Carie Martin
Carie's yoga story started 15 years ago in the dead of winter in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. A recent transplant from Los Angeles, the hot Vinyasa studio felt like home, and the end of every sweaty class left her rejuvenated, inspired, and sold on dedicating her life to a new path.
A long-time athlete with a science background and deep love of Anatomy, as Carie's yoga practice began to deepen, her interest in holistic health and the human spirit did too. She completed her first yoga teacher training in Boulder, Colorado in 2009, has since taken trainings in accessible yoga, Vinyasa, Hatha, Slow Flow, and Yin.
Certified as a Health Coach in 2010, and completing her Masters of Acupuncture in 2012, Carie opened the integrative health clinic Collaborative Care Seattle in 2015 where she works alongside a cohort of practitioners in varying specialties.
Carie continues to find new, fun, and challenging ways to move her body AND unwind in it on a daily basis. She believes in everyone's own unique version of balance, and is serious about her job of helping others realize theirs. Widely known to crush leisure activities, she also leans in to rest and relaxation as much as she possibly can.
A few fun facts about Carie:
She was a swimmer and water polo player
She has taught Barre, Yoga, and Indoor Cycling in 4 states and on 2 continents.
She leads a workshop of yin + community acupuncture once monthly in Seattle
Despite everyone she’s ever told trying to teach her…she just can’t whistle!
